Ferrite magnet is also known as Ceramic Magnet and as hard ferrite magnet. They are known as Ceramic Magnets because they are electrically insulating. Ferrite permanent magnets exist in two forms - Strontium Ferrite magnets and Barium Ferrite Magnets. The Strontium Ferrite Magnets is the most common.
Permanent Ferrite / Ceramic magnets are technically known as hard ferrite materials, as when they are exposed to a brief external magnetic field, the material retains magnetism due to having high coercivity, Hc, they are not the same as soft ferrite materials as used in transformer cores (soft ferrite materials have low coercivity). The high coercive force of Ferrite Magnets means they are classified as hard materials, like all the other permanent magnets.
Hard ferrite (ceramic) magnets were developed in the 1960's as a low cost alternative to metallic magnets. Even though they exhibit low energy (compared with other permanent magnet materials) and are relatively brittle and hard, ferrite magnets are still widely used for many applications, including automotive, aerospace, military, advertising, design house, electronic and academic.
Ferrite magnets are extremely popular due to their characteristics:
1) They have good resistance to demagnetization, which enable them can be used up to +250 degrees C (and in some cases up to +300 deg C).
2) They are with excellent corrosion resistance.
3) They are at low cost, therefore the use of ferrite magnets in most applications is more economical than other materials.
Ferrite magnets can be used in a wide range of applications due to their high coercivity and low cost.
They also have good machining properties which allows them to be cut into different shapes and sizes.
Ferrite has an excellent resistance to demagnetization/corrosion, however care must be taken when handling the product due to its brittleness.
Common applications include reed switches, loud speakers, security systems, audio and television.
Ferrite magnets, Magnetic material is a kind of functional material that is necessary for basic industry and frontier science. In order to keep up with the rapid developing trend of ferrite magnets production and application in the world, the factory backed by its year's professional experience and convenient well-situated facility, continuously promotes the development and production in the field.
We have made it our long terms policy for our innovative ferrite magnets products to be reliable in quality, preferential in price, faithful to contract and mutual beneficial in cooperation.
The elements of Ferrite magnets are ferric oxide, barium oxide and strontium oxide, etc. Ferrite magnets have higher coercive force, higher resistance to be demagnetized and higher corrosion resistance than other non-rare earth permanent magnets. The biggest advantages of such magnets are their low price.
Ferrite magnets are widely used in motors, speakers, microwave devices, electronics, machines, instruments, meters, toys and crafts, etc.
